>> May 16th - Make that twelve in a row and counting for the Lo-Ellen Park SS Knights, capturing the SDSSAA Relay Overall Aggregate banner earlier today at Laurentian Community Track Complex. The Knights' outscored their nearest competitor, Lockerby, by 47 points en route to the title.

Some results from the relay meet are used to seed entries for the SDSSAA track championships, hosted next Wednesday and Thursday.

Macdonald-Cartier
would like to salute Alexie Dennie, a grade 12 student, as athlete of the week. Alexie has participated in many sporting activities including volleyball, basketball, swimming and track and field.

Alexie is currently president of our student athletic association and has been a member since grade 10. Since grade 10 she has played middle player in volleyball.

Last year, her team won cities and NOSSA, division I and made it to the quarter finals at OFSAA. In grade 11 she won most improved player in volley and this year was awarded most valuable player on her team. In basketball, Alexie plays post and last year her team won cities, division II. She also swam competitively for three years. In track and field she has participated in shot put and javelin. She was awarded athlete of the year in grades 10 and 11. She is also willing to help out during games and tournaments and was also a volunteer in the Ontario Summer Games. Alexie was chosen to attend a leadership camp to represent our school. Her leadership skills, her dependability and her dedication to our school make her noteworthy of being chosen athlete of the week.
