>> Feb 2nd - UPDATE! SDSSAA racers hit the slopes for the first competitive test of the 2012 alpine season with a prelimary race hosted earlier today at Adanac Ski Hill. First place finishers were: Girls Level II - Lauren Kyle (St Benedict), Girls Level I - Mackenzie Webber (Marymount) and Boys Level I - Liam Passi (Lasalle). City championships go Wed, Feb 8th, also at Adanac.

Feb 1st - A start list in support of the SDSSAA Alpine Ski Preliminaries, slated for Thursday, February 2nd, 3:30pm at Adanac, is released. A total of 83 racers representing nine different area high schools are expected to participate.

>> Jan 19 - SDSSAA rules require all scheduled games to be postponed and rescheduled whenever school buses are pulled off the road due to winter weather.

As a result, all SDSSAA-scheduled basketball, hockey, nordic ski and volleyball games scheduled for later today will be postponed and rescheduled in the near future.

>> Jan 16 - The SDSSAA alpine ski city championship has been moved to Wed, Feb 8th (from Fri, Feb 10th) at Adanac Ski Hill. The move was made to accommodate course setting and club support at the hill for the event (Adanac Ski Club members are off to a club event on Friday the date previously selected for the city champs). NOSSA is still slated for Wed, Feb 15th at the Laurentian Ski Hil in North Bay.

Vanessa Warren is a Grade 11 multi-athlete student at Lockerby Composite School.

She was a key member of the Flag Football team and is currently on the Lockerby wrestling team. Vanessa is gifted with natural athleticism and she possesses the drive to succeed in any team she plays on.

As a first year wrestler, she is currently undefeated in SDSSAA and hopes to medal at the city championships held in February.

In addition, Vanessa is an asset to her teams because of her strong leadership skills and competitive nature.

We look forward to watching her excel in a variety of athletic endeavors here at Lockerby.
