1.Unless otherwise indicated in these
regulations, S.D.S.S.A.A. rules for girls' hockey will apply.
- A five minute major penalty such as
fighting will result in the player being ejected from the
remainder of the tournament. Any other major infraction will be
left to the discretion of the Organizing Committee to
decide.
- A player who receives three penalties in a
game will be ejected for the remainder of that game.
2.Format:
- Round robin - 2 x 15 straight time periods,
1 x 10 minute stop time period
- Semis and Finals - 3 x 10 minute stop time
periods
- Flood after every game.
3. The top four teams will advance to
Saturday's playoff round according to the following point
system:
- 2 points for winning the game
- 0.5 points for tying a period
- 1 point for winning a period
- 1 point for tying a game
If there is a tie in points at the end of
regulation play, the following tie breaking method will be
used:
- Goals for percentage = total goals for
divided by (goals for plus goals against)
- the team with the higher percentage takes
the higher position
4. No time-outs will be permitted until the
playoff round.
5. Tie breaking procedure in playoff
round:
- 1st minute: 4 on 4 with
goaltenders
- 2nd minute: 3 on 3
- 3rd minute: 2 on 2
- 4th minute: 1 on 1
*in case of penalty, teams will play 2 on
1
6. All players must play in at least one
regular round robin game in order to be eligible for the semi finals
or finals.
