Anyone who has ever seen a CFL game has heard of Paul Osbaldiston, know who he plays for, what he does and how good he is at it.

What they might not know is that Paul, or Ozzie to his friends, is coming to Sudbury to teach the skill that many feel will land him in the CFL Hall of Fame one day.

Paul Osbaldiston is the 14-year verteran kicker for the Hamilton Tiger Cats and currently sits fourth in CFL all-time scoring. He also hold the single game field goal record in the CFL at eight and boasts two Grey Cup championships to go along with his Grey Cup MVP award of 1986.

Through the efforts of Lasalle Lancer football coach Mike Derks, a former CFL'er in his own right, Ozzie will be making the trip North to host a kicking clinic at the Lasalle fields on May 27th and 28th.

The times for the clinic will be Saturday, May 27th, 1-4pm, and Sunday, May 28th, 10am to noon. "Campers" are requested to bring a football and tee to the sessions, and are asked to wear shorts, t-shirt and cleats. Registration for this special clinic will be limited to the first 30 "campers" and will include a "camp" t-shirt and a total of five hours of professional instruction.

Cost of the clinic is only $35 and interested parties are requested to contact Mike at 566-2280.

FINAL WEEK OF SOCCER REGULAR SEASON

"Seems we've only just begun ..." - that sure would be appropriate to characterize the finish of the high school girls' and boys' soccer seasons this Spring as we're already winding down the regular season this week.

Tie breaker games in all divisions, where necessary, will be scheduled at Delki Dozzi tommorrow, with an additional field to be announced if indeed additional games are necessary.

And what a race for the playoffs it has become. Semi finals are slated for Tuesday following the long weekend, with finals just one day later on the Wednesday. Don't try to catch your breath, because N.O.S.S.A. will be hosted in all divisions on the Friday, May 26th at Lily Creek.

TRACK CONCLUDES TODAY

And the 59th annual edition of the S.D.S.S.A.A. track and field championships conclude today at Laurentian University including some 700 athletes from 16 area high schools.

Although not known at time of publication, the question that will be answered will be whether or not Lo-Ellen can continue its incredible string of grand aggregate titles, one of the longest consecutive winning streaks in all of S.D.S.S.A.A.
