June 18th - UPDATE! The Lo-Ellen Park trio of Yves Poirier, Jamie Bouchard and John Dabous recorded an 8-under 62 to win the Bill Roman Memorial Trophy at the SDSSAA Male Coaches' Golf Championship hosted at Forest Ridge Golf Course yesterday. Retirees John Roberts, Bill McKetsy and Wayne Jermyn, along with Athletic Administrator Dave Makela, finished the 18-hole course with a final score of plus 2 (72), winning the Mike O'Reilly Trophy for most "honest" golfers.
A start list in support of the 53rd Annual RE Gibson Memorial Male Coaches' Golf Championship, to take place Tuesday, June 26th, at Forest Ridge Golf Course in Chelmsford, is released. This year's event will carry a 3:30pm shot gun start and will involve some 50 participants.

June 8th - Time to crack open a new edition of the 'ol OFSAA tracker, with three SDSSAA soccer teams and sixty athletes hunting down some OFSAA hardware this week.

>> June 6th - Contact! An unidentified Sacre-Coeur player shows his form as he makes solid contact with the ball at the SDSSAA boys slo-pitch championship, hosted at Centennial field in Hanmer yesterday.
The Griffons met the St Charles Cardinals in the Final, atop a field of 17 schools, where they managed a 19-15 victory to collect their first ever boys slo-pitch banner.

>> June 1st - Make that four consecutive overall aggregate NOSSA track and field titles for Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School. The Knights outdistanced their closest rival, Superior Heights CVS of the Soo, by over 100 points at the championships hosted in the Soo Wednesday and Thursday this week. Hanmer's Ashley Huard, in the SG 100m, and L'Horizon's Jeannie Poirier-Rochon, in the Open Girls 800m Wheelchair event, established new NOSSA records during the 2 day competition. A total of 62 SDSSAA student-athletes have qualified for the OFSAA Championships, which will be hosted in Brockville Jun 7-9.

>> May 30th - Convener Joel Lavallee of Esc Champlain releases the boys slo-pitch championship schedule slated for Wed, June 6th. This year's event will feature sixteen entries with all games taking place in Valley East.

>> May 30th - Four finals - four one goal victories. That was the picture from the soccer championships that were hosted Tuesday at the James Jerome Sports Complex and it just may have been the closest set of finals hosted in SDSSAA high school soccer ever. Bishop Carter girls and Confederation boys (second division) as well as Lockerby girls and boys (premier division) are the new SDSSAA soccer champions.
The results pave the way for NOSSA participation on Friday, June 1st (schedules posted on nossa.rainbowschools.ca) as follows:

May 25th - The stage is set for the SDSSAA Girls' Slo-Pitch Championship Finals tournament to be hosted Saturday, May 26th at the Terry Fox Sports Complex. A total of eighteen schools participated in the preliminary round on Tuesday, May 22nd, with the top eight advancing to finals.

Knights do it again! The Lo-Ellen Park Knights posted a total of 1053.5 team points en route to their eighth consecutive track and field title, and their 11th in the past twelve years, earlier today at the Laurentian Community Track Complex.
The total continues a four year trend of plus 1000 point totals for the south end school.
A total of fourteen new marks were established over the two days of competition. Selected athletes now advance to the NOSSA championships at the Jo Foreman Sports Complex in the Soo beginning at 3:30pm next Wednesday.
